E.V. Brown Memorial Golf Tournament has been a cornerstone of Austin Commercial's community engagement since its founding in 1996, created to honor the legacy of E.V. “Vernon” Brown, the company’s co-founder and first president. What began as a tribute to Brown’s generosity has grown into one of the top 25 charity golf tournaments in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, drawing participants from across the construction industry around a shared purpose: giving back.
Over nearly three decades, the tournament has raised well over $2 million for charitable organizations, with a strong emphasis on community healthcare—causes that were especially important to Vernon Brown. Beneficiaries over the years have included Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Children’s Medical Center, Texas Health Resources, Methodist Health System, and Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation.
